About This Role
This is a rare opportunity to apply your compliance expertise directly within the fast-moving world of crypto and web3. You'll be embedded in high-impact, long-term engagements with major financial institutions and digital asset firms, helping them build resilient KYC, Enhanced Due Diligence, and transaction monitoring frameworks tailored to blockchain-based products and decentralized transactions.
What You'll Be Doing
Conduct in-depth KYC and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for clients engaged in crypto, DeFi, and digital asset activities
Analyze on-chain and off-chain transaction patterns to identify suspicious activity tied to smart contracts, token transfers, and distributed ledger transactions
Investigate alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems, distinguishing legitimate blockchain activity from potential financial crime
Prepare detailed case narratives and escalate findings in line with regulatory expectations for crypto and traditional finance
Collaborate cross-functionally with compliance, legal, and risk teams to strengthen AML programs for emerging digital asset products
Stay current on evolving regulatory guidance surrounding cryptocurrency, stablecoins, and decentralized platforms
What We're Looking For
2–5+ years of experience in AML, KYC/EDD, or transaction monitoring (multiple levels considered: junior, mid, senior)
Demonstrated understanding of cryptocurrency, blockchain transaction flows, and digital asset risk typologies
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and on-chain data
Excellent written communication skills for case documentation and regulatory reporting
Ability to work onsite in NYC on a hybrid schedule
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, consulting-style environment with evolving client needs
Bonus Points
Prior experience with crypto exchanges, custodians, or web3-native financial platforms
Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools (Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, etc.)
Knowledge of DeFi protocols, smart contract risk, and decentralized exchange activity
CAMS or related AML/compliance certifications
