About This Role
Join the Institutional Operations Solutions (IOS) team for a 12-week immersive summer 2027 internship where real decisions matter. You'll be embedded within Coinbase's Institutional group, working alongside operators who manage risk and build solutions supporting the firm's expanding crypto and digital asset client base. This isn't shadow work—you'll own projects, analyze real data, and present findings to leadership.
What You'll Be Doing
Monitor and manage operational risk across compliance and regulatory touchpoints within institutional crypto operations
Spot inefficiencies in existing workflows and propose data-backed solutions to strengthen risk management frameworks
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to co-create technology solutions that support institutional-scale distributed ledger operations
Mine data sets to surface actionable insights and quantitatively-grounded recommendations
Team up with fellow interns to tackle a genuine business challenge, delivering a final presentation to senior leadership
Gain hands-on exposure to how institutional clients interact with crypto, DeFi, and digital asset infrastructure
What We're Looking For
Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in business, finance, accounting, management, or related field
Sharp problem-solving instincts, with the ability to anticipate downstream effects and simplify complex processes
Comfortable collaborating across functions and building relationships with diverse stakeholders
Working knowledge of finance or banking fundamentals, paired with genuine curiosity about blockchain, crypto, and decentralized finance
Responsible use of generative AI tools, applying human judgment to ensure outputs are accurate, efficient, and business-ready
Bonus Points
Prior exposure to blockchain-based products, smart contracts, or distributed systems
Experience with data analysis tools or quantitative coursework
Demonstrated interest in web3 ecosystems, tokenized assets, or institutional crypto trading
