About This Role
This isn't your typical accounting role—it's a chance to apply traditional financial expertise within a cutting-edge blockchain and web3 environment. You'll work alongside a team building the regulatory and financial infrastructure for the future of decentralized finance, including BitGo Bank & Trust, the first federally chartered digital asset trust bank under a publicly traded parent company. Your work will directly support the stability and compliance of a rapidly scaling crypto enterprise.
What You'll Be Doing
Own month-end and year-end close processes for entities operating across digital asset custody, DeFi, and stablecoin services
Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements tied to crypto and smart contract-based transactions
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment for novel digital asset products
Support audits, regulatory filings, and internal controls across multiple regulated blockchain entities
Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within a distributed systems business model
Collaborate with treasury and compliance teams on crypto asset valuation and reporting standards
What We're Looking For
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within fintech, crypto, or blockchain-adjacent industries
CPA license or active progress toward certification strongly preferred
Deep understanding of GAAP with the ability to apply it to emerging digital asset and DeFi transactions
Strong analytical skills and comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-evolving web3 landscape
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical, legal, and compliance stakeholders
High attention to detail and a commitment to financial accuracy in a regulated environment
Bonus Points
Prior experience accounting for digital assets, tokens, or smart contracts
Familiarity with crypto custody, staking, or stablecoin operations
Exposure to multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional financial reporting
Knowledge of blockchain-based settlement and treasury systems
