    About the job

The goal of a QA Engineer is to ensure product quality, reliability, and an exceptional user experience through a balanced combination of manual and automated testing. This involves designing and executing comprehensive test cases, performing exploratory and regression testing, identifying and documenting defects, and ensuring issues are properly tracked and resolved.

QA Engineers also develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks, integrating them into continuous integration and delivery pipelines to achieve broad coverage across functional, regression, and performance scenarios. By continuously improving testing efficiency and reducing manual effort, they help accelerate release cycles without compromising quality.

Focused on preventing defects from reaching end users, QA Engineers collaborate closely with development teams to uphold high standards of usability, performance, and reliability, blending the depth of manual validation with the speed and consistency of automation to deliver a seamless and dependable product experience.

    Responsibilities

    Manual QA:

    • Design and Execute Test Cases: Create detailed, well-structured test plans and cases based on product requirements and acceptance criteria.

    • Conduct Exploratory Testing: Investigate the application beyond scripted cases to identify edge cases, usability issues, and unexpected behavior.

    • Identify and Document Defects: Accurately record issues with clear steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and relevant evidence (screenshots, logs).

    • Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to clarify requirements and discuss quality concerns.

    • Validate Bug Fixes: Re-test resolved defects to confirm they are fully fixed and do not introduce new issues.

    Automated QA:

    • Design and Develop Automated Test Cases: Build, maintain, and optimize automated test scripts based on product requirements and acceptance criteria.

    • Create and Maintain Test Automation Frameworks: Develop scalable, reusable, and maintainable test automation frameworks that support functional, regression, and performance testing.

    • Integrate Automation into CI/CD Pipelines: Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to embed automated tests into continuous integration and delivery workflows.

    • Execute Automated Functional Testing: Run automated test suites to validate that each feature works as expected and meets quality standards.

    • Monitor and Analyze Test Results: Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and work with development teams to resolve defects.

Collaborate with Development and QA Teams: Partner with manual QA engineers, developers, and product managers to align on testing strategy and priorities.

    Mandatory

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

    • Experience:

      • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, including both manual and automation testing.

      • Demonstrated experience defining and executing QA strategies for complex software systems.

      • 3+ years of experience in JavaScript, Typescript & NodeJS

      • 3+ years of experience in test automation design and implementation (e.g., using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent).

      • 3+ years of experience in native mobile test automation design and implementation (e.g. Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, Detox, AWS Device Farm, BrowserStack App Automate, Firebase Test Lab, Sauce Labs, Kobiton, Robot Framework, BitBar, LambdaTest Mobile, HeadSpin, Fastlane, Tricentis Testim or equivalent)

      • Expertise in defining and implementing test plans, automation frameworks, and quality metrics.

      • Strong collaborative skills to align testing efforts with development, DevOps, and product management.

      • Ability to critically evaluate requirements and proposals for quality, ensuring clarity, testability, and completeness.

      • Demonstrated ability to act as a "red team" for quality - identifying risks and raising no-go flags when release criteria are not met.

    • Technical Knowledge:

      • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and SDLC/Agile/Scrum practices.

      • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).

      • Proven experience integrating automated tests into build and deployment workflows.

      • Proficiency in QA and defect tracking tools (e.g., Qase, TestRail, Jira, Asana, Confluence).
