What You'll Be Doing
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant backend services and APIs that power the Curve Finance protocol. Think low-latency, high-throughput, and absolute precision.
Architect and implement data storage solutions that are not only efficient but also resilient and capable of handling massive volumes of on-chain and off-chain data.
Optimize existing systems for speed, scalability, and resource utilization. We're talking microsecond improvements that make a world of difference in a competitive environment.
Collaborate closely with our frontend, smart contract, and research teams to seamlessly integrate new features and enhance user experience. Your backend will be the rock upon which their innovations stand.
Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from initial concept and design to deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance. You'll own your work from end to end.
Champion best practices in code quality, security, and testing. In DeFi, there's no room for error, and you'll be a guardian of our codebase's integrity.
Proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities. You'll be our early warning system, ensuring the protocol remains robust against any challenge.

What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to build and scale complex distributed systems.
Expertise in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Rust, Java, Node.js) with a deep understanding of its ecosystem and best practices. (Python is a major plus for us!)
Extensive experience with database technologies, both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., Redis, Cassandra), and an understanding of when to use each.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and asynchronous programming. We operate at scale, and you should too.
Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines. Automate everything that can be automated!
A deep-seated passion for blockchain technology and decentralized finance. You don't just understand it; you believe in its potential.
Familiarity with smart contract interactions and blockchain data (Ethereum specifically is a bonus). Understanding how our backend interacts with on-chain data is crucial.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and an ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
A commitment to writing clean, maintainable, well-tested, and documented code. Quality is paramount.
Self-starter mentality with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.

Experience with high-frequency trading systems or other low-latency environments.
Contributions to open-source projects, particularly in the blockchain space.
Familiarity with Web3 development tools and libraries.
