Business Development Lead - Spree
About This Role
As Spree's Business Development Lead, you will spearhead our growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing strategic partnerships with Web3 projects seeking to offer real-world utility and rewards to their users. You'll be instrumental in solving the "cold start" problem for reward issuers and turbocharging commercial crypto adoption.
What You'll Be Doing
Sell "Rewards Infrastructure in a Box" to Web3 projects, offering instant access to 2M+ merchants through our SDK.
Drive the partnership pipeline by identifying high-value blockchain projects, DeFi protocols, and token communities.
Execute strategic deals, from simple SDK integrations to full white-label marketplace deployments with branded stablecoins.
Accelerate key metrics, including SP Total Value Locked (TVL) and SP Spend Volume, by onboarding new liquidity and users.
Design innovative partnership models like revenue-sharing agreements and automated token buyback programs.
Bridge Web2 & Web3 by educating traditional loyalty programs on enhancing offerings with DeFi-infused rewards.
Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and demos to negotiation and post-partnership support.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing to ensure seamless integrations and joint go-to-market strategies.
Track and optimize partnership performance to continuously iterate on BD strategies for maximum adoption.
What We're Looking For
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment and achieve ambitious goals.
2-3 years of experience in Strategy Consulting at a top-tier firm, with strong abstract thinking, analysis, and execution skills.
Self-directed, decisive, and results-oriented with the ability to take ownership of ambitious growth targets.
3-4+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales, with at least 1+ years specifically in the Web3/DeFi ecosystem.
Proven track record of closing deals and driving TVL growth.
Deep understanding of Web3 infrastructure and DeFi protocols, including smart contracts, tokenomics, stablecoins, and yield-generating mechanisms.
Experience with SDK/API business models and developer-focused go-to-market strategies, preferably in blockchain infrastructure or protocol development.
Excellent networking and relationship management skills with established connections in the Web3 ecosystem, particularly with DeFi protocols.
