What You'll Be Doing
Architecting & Implementing Core Protocol Features: Design, develop, and deploy novel components and improvements to the Optimism protocol, focusing on areas like execution, state transitions, fault proofs, and cross-chain communication.
Optimizing for Performance & Efficiency: Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance transaction throughput, reduce gas costs, and improve overall system efficiency, ensuring Optimism remains a leading scaling solution.
Deep Dive into Rollup Mechanics: Become an expert in all aspects of Optimistic rollups and their evolving landscape, contributing to the research and development of next-generation scaling paradigms.
Security & Resilience by Design: Collaborate closely with security researchers and auditors to ensure the highest standards of cryptographic security and fault tolerance are ingrained in every line of code.
Bridging & Interoperability: Work on solutions that seamlessly connect Optimism to Ethereum Mainnet and other chains, fostering a truly interconnected blockchain ecosystem.
Open-Source Contribution: Actively participate in the broader Ethereum and rollup communities, contributing to EIPs, research papers, and fostering a collaborative environment.
Debugging & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex protocol-level issues, ensuring the stability and reliability of the Optimism network.
Code Review & Mentorship: Provide thoughtful and constructive code reviews to peers, elevating the quality of our codebase and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Experience with formal verification or security auditing.
