Embed privacy-by-design principles into product development for crypto, smart contracts, and decentralized applications, partnering closely with Product and Commercial Counsel
Direct the company's response to privacy incidents, regulatory inquiries, and law enforcement requests in coordination with Security and Risk teams
Represent Coinbase externally with data protection authorities and regulators across EMEA, shaping the company's privacy narrative in the blockchain space

8+ years practicing law, with 5+ years of substantive privacy experience, including in-house work at technology or financial services companies
JD or international equivalent, qualified to practice in the UK, Ireland, or an EU jurisdiction
Deep command of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, LGPD, and global data breach notification regimes, with the ability to translate requirements into operational controls
Demonstrated success leading complex privacy initiatives across Legal, Product, Engineering, and Operations

Comfortable using generative AI tools responsibly to boost efficiency while maintaining rigorous human oversight

Prior experience advising on privacy matters for blockchain, crypto, or decentralized finance products
Familiarity with digital asset regulatory frameworks and their intersection with data protection law
Experience engaging directly with EU/UK regulators on emerging technology policy
